Upgrading IBM Lotus Sametime Server versions

If you currently have IMtegrity installed on your IBM Lotus Sametime servers and you are upgrading the Sametime server software to a newer version (ie. from Sametime 3.x to 6.x, or from 6.x to 7.5), you need to perform a "Repair" of the IMtegrity installation after you upgraded the Sametime server software, because the IBM Sametime installer removes the currently installed IMtegrity chat logging file ("stchatlog.dll').

Note: Repairing any existing IMtegrity Version as of 3.2.1 or higher installation after upgrading your Sametime server software using the 'Repair' feature in the 'Add or Remove Programs' control panel will correctly re-install the proper IMtegrity "stchatlog.dll" file.

Note: If you are upgrading your Sametime server software and you also want to upgrade to the latest IMtegrity version, it is recommended to perform the upgrades in this sequence:

- Uninstall the existing IMtegrity software (Do not uninstall the "IMtegrity OS Components" though)
- Upgrade the IBM Lotus Sametime server software
- Install the latest IMtegrity software (see here for details)

Note: Uninstalling IMtegrity will preserve your existing chat logs and configuration data.

How to verify that the correct IMtegrity 'stchatlog.dll' file is installed:

Open Windows Explorer and find the file "stchatlog.dll" in your IBM Lotus Sametime program directory (usually the same directory as the IBM Lotus Domino program directory).

Right-click on the "stchatlog.dll" file and select 'Properties', then select the 'Version' tab.

The 'File version:' should be "9.3.4.0" or higher, and
the 'Description:' should be "Instant IMtegrity for IBM Lotus Sametime", and
the 'Copyright:' should be "Copyright © 2002-2007 Instant Technologies".

If the above data does not match, then the 'dummy' (non-functioning) default file is installed, and you need to either repair or upgrade to the latest IMtegrity version (See Upgrades for details on how to upgrade to the latest version).
