Troubleshooting un-installation errors

The IMtegrity installer attempts to automatically un-install and reset your system to the state it was before you installed IMtegrity.

Note: Data files (chat log files and the imtchatlog.nsf database) will not be removed by the installer.

In particular, the installer performs these automatic un-installation steps:

  • Stops and removes the Instant IMtegrity Proxy Server service.
  • Resets the chat logging options in the Sametime Community Server in:
    • stconfig.nsf (for Sametime 3.x, 6.x and 7.x servers)
    • sametime.ini (for Sametime 2.x servers) 

If during any of the these steps an error occurs, a dialogbox with a corresponding error message will be shown during the un-installation process. However, the installer will continue to remove IMtegrity from your system, regardless of any error messages.

How to manually complete the un-installation:

If the installer was unable to automatically reset the Lotus Sametime configuration, you need to manually perform the following steps:

For Sametime 3.x, 6.x, 7.x servers:

Open the database "stconfig.nsf"
Open the view "By Form"
Open the document "CommunityServices"
Set the field "Chat Logging Flag" to "off"
Clear the field "Capture Service Type"
Save the document
Restart the Sametime server

For Sametime 2.x servers:

Edit the "sametime.ini" file
Remove the line: CHAT_LOG_SUPPORT=1
Save the file
Restart the Sametime server

If Sametime chat services are unavailable after the un-installation of IMtegrity:

The IBM Lotus Sametime server by default comes with a stub chat logging file "stchatlog.dll". This stub file is a "dummy" file without any functionality and exists both in the server's program folder and the "\Database BB\Dummy\" subfolder. The IMtegrity installer replaces this dummy file with it's own implementation.

However, when you un-install IMtegrity, the stchatlog.dll file gets removed, leaving no stchatlog.dll file in the server's program folder anymore. To restore the original stub stchatlog.dll file into the program folder, you need to manually copy the still existing "stchatlog.dll" in the "\Database BB\Dummy" folder to the Sametime program folder, then restart the Sametime server.
