Inbound disclaimer configurationDisclaimer messages are administrator-specified text messages for AOL AIM traffic that are sent before or after the first message in an instant-message conversation ("per session disclaimers"). Optionally, additional disclaimer text can be repeated after every message received for internal users ("per message disclaimers"). Note: Inbound disclaimers are not supported for native IBM Lotus
Sametime chats. The inbound disclaimer text can contain HTML formatting tags and can be dynamic. You can insert the current date and date, the local user's screen name and authenticated name (see Directory authentication) and the remote users screen name anywhere in the text via special placeholder symbols. Note: IBM Lotus Sametime Connect clients don't support HTML formatting in AOL IM mode, all messages (incl. inbound disclaimers) will be shown as plain text only. Note: Inbound disclaimer configuration changes are dynamic and automatically take effect within 1 minute.
For example, if both internal users "Mary" and "Joe" receive instant messages from external user "Jim", "Mary" and "Joe" will each receive a "per session" inbound disclaimer at the beginning of each chat session from "Jim". A "session" lasts for an entire day and gets reset at midnight. So, if "Mary" later the same day receives another instant message from "Jim", she won't receive the inbound session disclaimer again if she already received one from "Jim". The next day, she'll receive a new one, as the session has been reset. Disclaimer text input box:
