IMtegrity Proxy Server for AOL AIM configurationIf you have application proxy servers (SOCKS servers) installed in your network, you need to configure the IMtegrity Proxy Server to pass through these SOCKS servers in order to connect to the internet. See Firewall and proxy server considerations for AOL AIM clients. By default, the IMtegrity Proxy Server listens for AOL AIM connection requests on port 5190 and binds to all available IP addresses of the Sametime server you're installing it on. We do not recommend to change these defaults unless your server has multiple network adapter cards and is connected to two different networks (for example, 1 NIC is bound to the private intranet and the other to the public internet). By default, native AOL AIM chats will be automatically logged into the \logs subfolder inside your IMtegrity program folder as native XML files and from there imported into the IMtegrity chat log analyzer database. The import is scheduled every 5 minutes. After the XML files have been imported, they will be removed from the log subfolder. To keep the original XML files, enable the "Store XML files as attachments" feature. Once enabled, all XML files will be stored as attachments with the respective log documents inside the IMtegrity Chat Log Analzyer database. Note: If you disable (uncheck) the option to log all Instant Messages to file, the logging portion will be disabled, but all AOL AIM traffic will still flow thru the IMtegrity proxy server to provide all other services such as Disclaimer texts, Directory authentication, etc. In order to have the chat logs available in the searchable IMtegrity Chat Log Analyzer database (imtchatlog.nsf), you must enable the XML file format as a log format, as only XML files will be imported. Plain text files will be not processed. The text file option is merely provided as a convinience feature so that you do not have to manually write XML transformations to obtain the plain text content of the chat logs. |
