Client configuration
Note: This is only required for AOL AIM traffic. No client configuration is
required for IBM Lotus Sametime chat logging. AOL Instant Messenger client settings: Note: Is is important that you not configure the clients
to use a proxy server. All AOL AIM client connections to the IMtegrity Proxy
Server must originate directly from each end user's system (i.e not pass
thru another proxy server first), as the IMtegrity proxy server requires
unique IP addresses from each user. Other configuration options (without having to touch every installation) You can configure your internal DNS servers to remap the "login.oscar.aol.com" name to the address running the IMtegrity Proxy Server. For example, if the IMtegrity Proxy Server address is "imtegrity.example.com", you can define "login.oscar.aol.com" as an alias name for "imtegrity.example.com". This way, you won't need to manually change each client configuration and you are also sure that users do not reconfigure their clients to circumvent the IMtegrity Proxy Server and the chat logging entirely. If you cannot reconfigure or change the internal DNS: For new IBM Lotus Sametime Connect client installations, you can use the Sametime Client packager to pre-configure the "Connect.ini" file. The value which needs to be updated is: [Aim Connectivity] For AOL Instant Messenger clients, you can send a registry merge module to each user which they can start to update the new AOL AIM setting in the registry. The registry key which needs to be updated is: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\America Online\AOL Instant Messenger
